Get Involved

Thank you for your interest in Sonoma Valley Watershed!

You can help care for your watershed in several ways. These include joining a neighborhood Stream Stewards, volunteering for creek clean-up and restoration efforts, and providing input into one of many ongoing planning processes. Please see below for more information about all of these activities. Look for the  icon throughout this website to quickly find out what you can do!

Join a Stream Stewards Group

Stream Stewards groups are made up of neighbors who live along a creek. If you live in a neighborhood that already has a Stream Stewards group, please contact the leader and join its ongoing efforts. Check the Stream Stewards pages, above, to see if a group exists near you. If there's no group in your neighborhood, you can start one by talking with Julie Jehly, Watershed Stewardship Coordinator.

Become a Citizen Scientist

You can help build the collective knowledge about our watershed by participating in monitoring watershed health indicators such as rainfall. See this section for a growing list of data being collected by citizens and how you can participate.

Volunteer for Creek Restoration Efforts

Here we describe some of the projects to clean up, restore, and revegetate reaches of our creeks that are especially important for fish and other wildlife. There is usually something going on and you can help! Check the events for upcoming activities, or call Julie Jehly to join the latest project.

Provide Input into Watershed Planning Efforts

The public is often asked for input and feedback on documents and planning processes that affect the health of the watershed. Check this section to learn about current projects and find out how you can be involved.
