Description: Stewardship members include people living on or near the Glen Ellen stretch of Sonoma and Calabazas Creeks. We are actively looking for upstream and downstream residents who wish to join.

Stream Stewards walk Sonoma Creek below the Arnold Drive bridge with Sonoma Ecology Center staff as part of the Water Wisdom series.

Activities: Many homeowners on Sonoma Creek in Glen Ellen experienced extreme flooding during the New Year's Storm of 2005/2006. They recently took apart a large debris jam downstream from the Arnold Drive bridge, and they are beginning to plan other flood control and creek restoration projects. The stewardship leaders, Sonoma Ecology Center, and Southern Sonoma County Resource Conservation District also participate in the annual Glen Ellen Fair and host the Water Wisdom Forum. Be sure to stop by our booth at the Fair in mid-October 2011!

More Information and How to Join: Send an email to Bill Crawford, a Glen Ellen stewardship leader, or call him at 707-996-5995.
